She has assisted companies and investors with start-ups and M&A transactions in French and Englishspeaking African countries such as Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana and Nigeria.
Michaella has also worked with the CREPMF, now the Financial Markets Authority of the West African
Monetary Union in modifying the legal framework applicable to private equity.

Experience

Michaella began her career with the law firm Eyong Noah, where she advised and assisted on property
investments and employment law.

She subsequently joined Epena, where she assists and advises investment funds, financial institutions and
companies on structuring and negotiating the tax and legal terms of their investments in Africa. She also
assists with the creation of international investment funds and the establishment of regulated portfolio
management companies, as well as the drafting of related documentation.

She takes part in legal audits of companies and in setting up employee shareholding plans. She has also
assisted clients in acquiring companies in French-speaking Africa (Cameroon, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire) and
English-speaking Africa (Ghana, Nigeria). She also assists numerous debt funds with the financing of
companies on the continent and the implementation of securities.

Education

Michaella is currently writing a thesis in business law at the University of Dschang on debt recovery and holds a Master 2 in the same field from the University of Dschang obtained with honours, and a Bachelor’s degree in Legal and Political Sciences obtained with honours.
